ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2009 New City sign
-A new fire truck arrived in April.                                                       
-The Building Official received a new vehicle.
-The Police Department ordered three new cruisers.
-The Utility Department received a Vactor Truck to help in their work.
-The completion of the Police Impound Lot.
-New base and portable radio system for the police/fire departments.
-Port Richey Police Department was the first to utilize, department wide, a new computer system, "TraCS of Florida" an automated traffic citation program.
-The awarding of an $11,000.00 Federal Stimulus Grant, for city infrastructure, used to equip a City Emergency Operations Center.
-The awarding of a $67,000.00 FDLE grant, used to fund a Port Richey Police Department Street Crimes Unit.
-The awarding of a $1,000 FDLE grant, used to purchase and equip a Port Richey Police Department Bicycle Patrol.
-The awarding of a $103,000.00 DOT grant, used to fund a Port Richey Police Department Aggressive Driving Program.
-The renewal of a $211,000.00 Pasco County wide law enforcement grant, used to fund the Street Narcotic apprehensive Program (SNAP)
-The Police Department reinstated a Business I.D. Program in which City businesses are contacted for up-to-date information on alarms, owner contacts, etc.  The business is then supplied with a Door Number; this number is then entered into the Police computer for owner notification for emergencies.
-One new full-time and two part-time Police Officers funded by City Council efforts, and the starting of the Port Richey Police Department Reserve Officer Program, utilzing fully sworn, but unpaid officers to supplement law enforcement services.
-Communications Officer Tammy Schuck awarded the Port Richey Police Department Communications Officer of the year awarded by the B.P.O.E.
-The Police/Fire/Utility Departments took an "active" role in the undertaking and organizing of the City's 84th Anniversary Party.
-The Police/Fire/Utility Departments sponsored and put on a recurring "Halloween Haunted House".
-The Police/Fire/Utility Departments sponsored and put on its first "Christmas Toy Drive Car Show".
-The Police/Fire Departments will be sponsoring and putting on a recurring "Christmas Santa Drive Around" using the new fire truck.
-The Port Richey Police Department has taken an aggressive approach towards D.U.I. traffic enforcement.  The officers have received training in Intoxilyzer Operation, Road Side Sobriety Testing, Radar/Laser Operation and in 2010 the department will hae its first officer trained as a Drug Recognition Expert.  The police department has issued 4,547 traffic citations with 58 of them being for D.U.I. for the year 2009.
-City Hall implemented a Safety Program comprised of employees.
